摩根2002年加盟微软，他在LinkedIn上的个人资料显示：“其负责微软研发部门中长期开发项目的高级安全事务。微软研发部门涉及Windows 8内核和Windows 9项目的128位架构,摩根将负责Windows 8和Windows 9中IA-128架构向后兼容现有IA-64架构指令集。”这一描述首次公开了微软关于Windows 8和Windows 9将推出128位版本的计划。
不过，近日上述个人资料页面已经被摩根删除。
业界人士指出，Windows 7可能成为微软最后一款同时发布32位和64位版本的操作系统，此后微软极有可能不在发布任何32位版本的Windows。
微软管理及服务部门技术开发人员日前也证实称，Windows 7开发工作已于今年7月底基本结束，微软正为Windows 8开发做前期准备，并已经为此建立了12个技术工作组。
